It is useful to have at hand databases (DB) of indicators, where various indicators and metrics are collected and classified by industries and functional areas. I provide a list of sites (replenished from time to time, as new sources are found) containing libraries of indicators, KPIs (both English-language and domestic sites). Not all sites are ready to share information, many KPI services are paid:

There are sites with lists of standardized business processes (for example, a good classifier of business processes American Productivity & Quality Center, a very useful site http://www.apqc.org/ ), but without process indicators. At the same time, if you write a request to APQC, you can quite easily get a meaningful answer and a list of KPIs, structured by business process levels. Unfortunately, many libraries of indicators are paid, although the probability of applying indicators from the KPI database to your company is extremely low, especially the probability of applying foreign KPIs from English-language KPI databases in domestic practice is low.
Ready-made indicators from external KPI databases are sometimes a weak help; the optimal, but more labor-intensive option is to analyze the company’s business process system using criteria and the right questions:
- Process result – what is the process result expressed in? How to measure? Is the external/internal client satisfied with the process result? What are the satisfaction criteria?
- Resource costs for process execution – what resource costs are required to execute a business process? How to measure? What standards must be met?
- Time indicators of process implementation – what time measurements during the process implementation are appropriate? What standards exist? What deviations from deadlines are appropriate to measure each reporting period – average, maximum?
- Level of defects/nonconformities in process execution – what are the nonconformities in process execution? How to measure?
